Dana Morningstar
Dana Morningstar, M. Ed. has been the Chair, The School of Design at Fanshawe College since fall 2014 and served as Chair of Contemporary Media 2009 – 2014. This work, and being faculty for 20 years, has given Dana an umbrella perspective on digital pedagogy and digital strategy. Interdisciplinary approaches, design thinking, convergence of media, innovation, and experiential learning are all parts of what Dana believes are essential aspects of post-secondary learning. Dana holds both a B.Ed. and a M.Ed. from the University of Western Ontario in the area of Educational Studies – curriculum specialization. Her M.Ed. thesis was on collaborative programming in Ontario colleges and universities. Dana is close to completing an Ed. D. with a culminating project titled: Creative ‘Class’: Innovating with Digital Pedagogy in Creative Industry Programs. Within that research, Dana discovered several trends in Digital Strategie for Higher Education. She looks forward to sharing these insights with the Advanced Learning Conference participants.
