Stella Bastone is an instructional designer at George Brown College, a position comprising multiple dimensions of TEL support. Over the past ten years, her role has included working with faculty on course design and establishing the college's online Quality Assurance Standards. A major component of her work involves advancing TEL-related professional development, designing and facilitating faculty training sessions, courses, and full certificates. She has worked closely with academic divisions to explore existing faculty needs, and to devise and implement divisional plans for e-learning development and support. In addition, she has advised extensively on policy integration in TEL, including those related to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), copyright, and human rights. She has designed and taught online credit courses including, most recently, Digital Citizenship. Prior to this, she taught blended, online and face-to-face courses for 8 years. She holds a Master's degree in Distance Education and has delved extensively in the literature on faculty supports for TEL, with a particular focus on part-time faculty.
